I Love Hotels ❤ Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
This time we head over to the world’s forth-leading financial centre – Singapore – behind New York, London and Hong Kong. Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort near the CBD in the southern part of Singapore and billed as the most expensive standalone casino property at S$8b.
The resort includes a hotel, convention centre, shopping mall, casino and probably most famous of all the 340m long SkyPark hosting the 150m long Infinity Pool, more on that later.
Boasting over 2,500 hotel rooms over three towers you can imagine it’s a busy place which is probably one of the most noticeable differences to other 5 star properties.
We stayed in the spacious, contemporary Premier Room on level 42 of Tower One with a balcony overlooking Gardens by the Bay.
The best feature in the room is the large bathroom with a free-standing bath and walk-in shower
It takes a while to get your bearings around this massive property and there’s lots to explore. The shopping mall is mainly high-end fashion but there are some mid-tier retailers as well. Compared to Genting’s Resort World, the casino in my opinion is more pleasant but the entire ground floor is a smoking zone so head to level 1 if you’re a non-smoker.
The Infinity Pool on level 57 is undoubtedly the highlight of this property and whilst it’s hugely popular with hotel guests there’s still plenty of room for everyone. Floating on top of the world, the view is simply breathtaking and a destination in itself. Be sure to visit in different times to admire the views.
Another attraction at SkyPark is Sky on 57, the restaurant offering a modern take on asian cuisine led by celebrity chef Justin Quek.
Expect to dine in a relaxed and sophisticated environment with the food, service and view to match.
We tend to over eat on our holidays so getting so exercise done isn’t so bad. The Banyan Tree Fitness Club is located on level 55 in Tower Two is well equipped and is one of the busier hotel gyms.
It’s quite refreshing to workout with a view like this.
In conclusion the Infinity Pool is amazing enough to warrant a stay at Marina Bay Sands but I’m not convinced it’s our hotel of choice for Singapore.
I love staying at hotels, new and luxe ones that is. Met with a warm welcome as you enter a grand lobby and opening the doors and seeing the sophisticated and thoughtful interiors of a fresh immaculate room…’I ❤ Hotels’ is a series where I share hotel experiences that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.
