Formerly known as the Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA),  the 442 room five-star airport hotel was rebranded ‘Sama Sama’, meaning ‘you’re welcome’ and ‘togetherness’ in early 2013. Connected via a skybridge, the hotel is just 5 mins walk from KLIA’s Arrival Hall or 2 mins via the free buggy-ride. It’s location makes it an ideal place to stay on extended stopovers, particularly if you want to collect your luggage.

For a shorter stopover, there’s the 80 room Sama Sama Express (Transit Hotel) inside the Satellite terminal which can be booked on an hourly basis with a minimum booking of 6 hours. There is a separate Sama Sama Express for passengers travelling through KLIA2 as the two terminals are not linked. At either transit hotels, guests are required to show boarding passes for the onward flight upon check-in.

All three hotels are owned and operated by Malaysia Airport Holdings who recently spent RM90million refurbishing the two hotels at KLIA and opening up at KLIA2 in conjunction with the new low-cost terminal’s launch back in May.

Spread over 9 floors, the multi-million dollar refurbishment saw the introduction of a contemporary styled bed and bathroom along with the latest in-room technologies and complimentary WiFi. Walking into the Grand Lobby at Sama Sama is really no different to walking into any other five-star hotels other than it’s right next to the airport. There’s a wide selection of room options, all fit for a short luxury stay.

Apart from room service, the hotel offers four dining options and the open kitchen at Degrees never closes. Food quality is worthy of five-stars, from Malaysian, Indian, Japanese to an English roast, you’re bound to find something you like from the 150 international dishes.

Sama Sama is perfect for travellers who have more than 12 hours to kill and don’t want the hassle of travelling out to the city which can take 45 to 60 mins by car or 28 mins to KL Sentral by KLIA Ekspres.
