I LOVE HOTELS ❤ Osaka Marriott Miyako

Osaka Marriott Miyako

Occupying the top 20 floors of Japan’s tallest building – the 60-storey, 300m high Abeno Harukas (あべのハルカス), is the Marriott Osaka Miyako hotel. Dominating the Osaka skyline, the 360 guest rooms across levels 38 to 57 offers breathtaking views of Osaka from its floor to ceiling windows.

Situated next to the Abenobashi Station (あべの橋駅), it’s a quick 45 minutes by train from the Kansai International Airport (KIX 関西国際空港). The building itself is hard to miss but the rather bland entrance from street level is more hidden.

Don’t worry, the blandness stops there…reception, restaurants and the lobby bar are found on Level 19 where tall ceiling height matched with massive floor-to-ceiling windows creates a sense of spaciousness as if you were walking in the clouds. Check in is efficient and staff are extremely courteous which is just the norm in Japan.

At 38 sqm, our rooms on Level 40 were very large by Japanese standards, and were luxurious with evident minimalist Japanese design influence. The first thing you notice though is undoubtedly the awe-inspiring views of Osaka, I think I spent 10 minutes just looking out the window!

Bathroom, one word – sensational! The WC is separated from the main bathroom and of course features a fancy electronic toilet seat.

Breakfast is served buffet style at Cooka on Level 19 with an extensive selection of international dishes. Yummy, wholesome breakfast, gorgeous views, great company, faultless hospitality…who wouldn’t like to start your day this way everyday? Of course you tend to over eat on holidays and spending a bit of time at the well-equipped gym helps ease the conscience.

During our stay, we came across many families with young children and Marriott gives every young traveler a thoughtful amenity kit.

The Marriott is extremely convenient and has a direct connection to the train station and Kintetsu Department Store (which translate literally to ‘near train’ Department Store). Plenty of shops and restaurants surround the hotel so make sure you leave time to explore the vicinity nearby.

Hotel guests receive free tickets to the Abeno Harukas Observation Deck which is situated on Levels 58 – 60, featuring an open-air plaza and 360 degrees observation deck with commanding panoramic views of Osaka and beyond.

The Marriott Osaka Miyako was a truly all-round impressive stay!
